Beeswax is a food-grade wax made by the bees which they use to construct the hexagonal structures of the hive. Beeswax usage for its medicinal benefits dates back to ancient Egypt. In ancient Rome, a popular cream documented as “cold cream”, was made with olive oil, beeswax and rose water for the treatment of burns, wounds, cuts and bruises. In Ayurveda, beeswax is known as “Madhuchishtha” and has been recommended for the treatment of cracked heels.
