A critical element of the intervention in our Kangra Village is a small piece of leased agricultural land where Tenacious Bee has been growing herbs, flowers, traditional vegetables and grains that are native to this region using permaculture principles. The location of the farm near the panchayat ghar makes it visually accessible to the community, who over the years have started working with us and growing some of these pollinator friendly plants in their own small farms. Our long term goal with these activities is to increase biodiversity within every farmer’s land, which will then attract more native bees and pollinators, who will then promote more biodiversity- triggering a positive chain reaction that will benefit both the community and the local ecology in immeasurable ways.
